I’m trying to use this on Windows, but got an error about ‘sh’ not be recognized.

Windows doesn’t have sh. Try naming the file .env.local instead, in which case dotenv will automatically read the file and you won’t need to make any change to package.json for your local environment. As for the other environments, you’ll need to figure out what the Windows equivalent of the source command is. You should be able to use that in place of the call to sh.
