It is with sadness and excitement that today I announce I am leaving my role at Multiplay to join Hypixel as their new Brand Manager.

With three years of random photoshops saved to our shared office drive, I was spoilt for choice…

I’ve been at Multiplay almost three years now — My first day at my first gaming event captured on camera above — and I’ll forever be indebted for the lessons I’ve learned and the friendships I’ve made. My time here has been a hugely positive experience and I consider it a privilege to have worked within such an incredibly talented and passionate team.

Among the many projects and achievements I am proud to have contributed to;

  • We increased the footfall of our flagship Insomnia Gaming Festival event by 60% over a period of two years, laying the groundwork for a potential international expansion
  • We helped bring millions of players together on gameservers across the globe for clients such as Bohemia Interactive (DayZ), EA, and Nexon (Dirty Bomb)
  • We delivered the world record Minecraft convention MINECON 2015 for Mojang / Microsoft, as well as countless interesting events for a range of commercial clients

Additionally, I’ve attached a small selection of my favourite recent tweets and media I worked on at the end of this post.

I’d like to thank not just my colleagues (names too numerous to list) and our volunteers (less names because we kept hiring them) but also the awesome and 100% complaint-free Multiplay community for putting up with me.

I believe that the company and the team have an even brighter future ahead of them, and I’m looking forward to witnessing all of Multiplay’s continued success in events, esports, and online hosting from slightly farther afield.

With 1.9 million unique players in the past month alone, Hypixel represents the best of Minecraft’s free-to-play minigame servers. Clocking a daily average of over 20,000 concurrent players, Hypixel regularly ranks amid the top 20 most played games on Steam in terms of player count. To illustrate: as I write this there are currently more people on PC playing Hypixel than Rocket League.

As Brand Manager I will be taking the lead on marketing, digital content, communications and more to help drive forward the Hypixel brand in ways that better serve its millions of dedicated members.

If you’d like to learn more about the crazy world of popular Minecraft servers, Hypixel was recently covered in this great piece by Rock Paper Shotgun.
