Mind Your Mind!

#TaelerArmy — Remember that song, “I wish that I knew then what I know now, when I was younger…” Hindsight may indeed be 20/20. However, perhaps, that’s for the best. You may not be the person you are right now reading this if you did know then what you know now. Only look back long enough to tell the kid you were that you got their back & from here on out you’re both going to do epic shizit. Then look forward & do it! Here’s 8 notes for our younger selves. May they help us become the adults we needed as children…

1. Mind your thoughts when you’re alone. In your lifetime many will quit on you, make sure you aren’t one of them.
2. Mind your tongue when around friends. Not everyone riding with you is for you. Don’t sit at tables where you’ll be the conversation when you leave. Bring your own damn table .
3. Mind your temper when angry. Don’t tell people your plans, show them your results instead. 80% don’t care about your problems & 20% are glad it’s you not them.
4. Mind your behavior in groups. If you look around & aren’t inspired then that group is a cage not a circle.
5. Mind your emotions when in trouble. Trauma creates change we didn’t choose. Healing is about creating changes we do choose.
6. Mind your blessings. When in doubt count them as you’d count the stones thrown at you. Collect your blessings as you would those stones & build yourself an impenetrable castle with a spectacular view.
7. Mind your own self. Stop crying about people wiping their feet on you like a doormat. Get yourself up off the floor. Life is rough you gotta be tough.
8. Mind your mind. You need to accept that in some people’s story, you’ll be the villain. It’s their story, not yours. For you, only allow others a pencil to write footnotes in your story. Only you should wield the pen to write your story. Other’s narratives of you aren’t your concern. Mind your own mind. — TH
