Why Women Smile at Men Who Sexually Harass Us
Hanna Brooks Olsen

Seriously, I would like to know how many women consider a man unknown to them who initiates a casual and polite conversation sexual harassment. You seem to say here that it is. Forget the hitting, raping, sexual comments, and other bad behavior. I’m talking about opening up a conversation! What are men supposed to do, wait for women to wear signs saying something like “If I hold up 7 fingers then point at you, that means it’s okay for you to start a conversation with me.”? Get a grip girl! Most of the women I dated and the two I married started with conversations I initiated. And you may be pleased to know that as you age, the guys wanting to initiate a conversation with you will diminish. Ask any 60 year old flight attendant.

I been all around this old world…many many times. Not to dismiss bad behavior you experience here in the US, but FYI it’s much much worse in most countries outside the US and Europe so if you plan on traveling, you’d better get your game on.
