May the Real Fuel Prices in Cameroon Please Stand-up!

News about dropping oil prices over the past 7 months has been everywhere such that its no longer news. Since June of 2015 the price of oil has more than halved, dropping from about $110 per barrel to $33 today. There are reasons for this but as with everything else, analyst always have an explanation. There goes world news.
As everyone in Cameroon knows, world news is a world away from Cameroon news. Over the same period of time oil prices have more than halved no shit happened to fuel prices here till the 31st of December 2015 when the prices were cut by 4.16%. Yes you got that right 4.16%. In July of 2014 the price of diesel was increased by 15%. That was 1 year before the oil price drop began. Over the past 7 months the price of oil has dropped by more than 70% but the price of diesel here has dropped by 4.16%, Awesome! As with everything there is an analyst somewhere who can explain why the price drop in Cameroon is no way near proportional to that around the world. Am just here to say that those massive price drops you are talking about worldwide in international media ain’t happening here.
Now to BBC, when next you make a list of those benefiting vs those not benefiting from the drop of the price of oil, put Cameroon in the those-not-benefiting list.
