The ultimate urge of a person is to be important for the people around him. This is the most basic, unintentionally wanted and most exhilarated feeling when fulfilled. So by reading the chapter from book “How to win Friends and influence people” it is quite obvious to become important for someone, to become an interesting person for someone and to provide joy in someone’s life you need to take one simple step and that is being interested in that person. In this mechanical life style where everyone is seeking their own good, nobody cares for other’s emotions, they need to fill their own desires, when you show someone that you are interested in him it will not only make that person feel important but also bring joy and jubilation to his life and bring and unintended smile on his face when he finds out he is important to someone. All the examples of a dog, a magician, a salesman and other’s from the book tells us the lesson that “To become interested to someone, you need to be interested in them first.”

For the “Interested Challenge” project I talked to one of my university friends. I talked to him about his life, his family, where he is going, whether he is happy with his life and where is the path that he follows will be leading him in the future. The more I talked about him, the more things revealed to me,not just about him but about me too. The more I came to know about his life, his hardships, the challenges he is facing made me realize that ups and downs do come in everyone’s life and we should face them valiantly. Apart from that the key thing that I noticed that, while I asked more and more about him and the more he told me it made him feel important, a realization he had about being cared made him feel lighter and happier. The response he gave me for this action was, the response that is felt I gained was of being trusted, being thankful to hear him out and being there for me too when I would be needing someone. This experience has proved “To become interesting, first become interested.”
