WHERE ARE THEY NOW 2017

#CITYBOYS

So I started this project to track former Detroit City FC players playing elsewhere now that the NPSL season is over. Not the easiest task with over 20 playing in the college ranks, 2 in the USL, 1 in MLS, and numerous spending time overseas (the hardest to track as many teams have outdated websites and NO social media presence).

I have not determined how I plan on formatting this information and I am sure that it will change as the season progresses. It has already changed from my first postings of the information on Twitter and I guess we will see which format works best.

So we begin:

COLLEGE:

Michigan State University is off to a 6-0 start and sitting at #6 in the National Rankings. Bret Mollon and Caesar himself Ben Pirmann are assistant coaches for the Spartans

University of Detroit Mercy is off to an impressive 4-0-1 record behind a trio of City stars. Pliakos and Moorman account for 9 of the Titans 10 goals and each also have a number of assists.

Robbie Beckwell (GK) — Titan of the Week, Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week

Danny Deakin (Mid) — 1 Goal, has made 10 starts and featured in 16 matches but was hampered by a midseason injury

MLS

DC United are the bottom dwellers in the east, but a bright spot has definitely been Kofi Opare securing is spot in the defense. His play has been spectacular and he looks great coming up on corners and free kicks. He leads MLS defenders in chances off of headers.
