An Invention of “Letter Pot”
About a week ago, a new currency was invented in Japan, Letter Pot. It is not a kind of Crypto Currency but it is our emotion.
Letter Pot is produced by Akihiro Nishino, a Japanese comedian, who is now famous as a writer of business book, “Fanfare of The Revolution-Money and Advertisements in recent societies-.” A lot of people pay attention to this new currency in Japan now. So, I want to tell you around the world about this big Invention. In this article, the reason the Letter Pot was invented, how it is used and what we can expect will be outlined.
Why was the Letter Pot invented?
Mr. Akihiro Nishino is one of the victims of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. He was working as a volunteer at that time and had to take time to put the Senba-Zuru away. Senba-Zuru is a crane made by Japanese Origami, which is usually sent to places or people where something bad had happened to show their sympathies with victims and to encourage them. The victims were so thankful of their efforts to make and send Origamis, but they were literally interfering with their work. As you know we had two magnificent earthquakes in Japan in a decade, and exactly the same problem was happening. But, nobody is wrong, the supporters want to show their feeling and the victims want to receive their voice as well. Therefore, the Letter Pot was invented. In Letter Pot, letters are sent to someone online and it has some economic values because the senders need to buy letters.
How to use the Letter Pot?
- Buy the Letters via credit card.
Price:100 letters(characters)=540 yen (tax included), letters are valid only for 4 months.
2. Choose who you want to send your letters.
3. Choose and buy one “Pot” from 3 types. Designs and prices are different each.
4. Write down your emotion or what you want to tell him or her.
5. Send and share your experience on the Letter Pot.
What can we expect to the Letter Pot?
As seen above, the Letter Pot is a service in which we can tell our emotion in form of the letter. Here, I need to mention that the letters we bought or received cannot be put back into the real money according to the decisions so far. Money will be donated to some organizations (not decided yet though). So, you cannot earn money, however, everyone knows that the letters are worthy because every user needs to buy them. Our goal is to create a new economy which is driven by our words. In this new economy, the key is not ‘give and take,’ but kindness to your neighbors.
