Kids are killed because of the most outrageous things here in Brazil. For instance, last year some kids were shot at by police officers because they were playing around with a cellphone— one of them died and the last moments of the boy, as well as the pleas for help by the others who were shot were all captured by the mobile phone. In the same year, and not too far from here, 5 young boys were gunned down inside their vehicles for absolutely no reason at all. They were celebrating the first salary of one of their friends, who also did not survive.
In all these cases, police officers alleged confrontation, and, in the first one, they even tried to plant evidence.
These are just a couple of examples. The amount of innocent kids (including infants) that are caught and killed in the crossfire and the amount of innocent people either killed or discriminated against in this country is immense, and it is a daily occurrence. All of these happening in our poorest communities where the percentage of black people is, of course, way higher than in other areas of the state (Rio de Janeiro).
This is to show that the black man and the black woman is not safe anywhere in the world and that they are being killed with disregard (and hate).
This is genocide, plain and simply genocide.
even a black child playing with a toy pistol in broad daylight can be killed.
