The Interested Challenge!
Well the readings focused on basically one thing overall and that was to tell you to become genuinely interested in other people. It clearly elaborated and beautifully explained with different example from different parts of one life that how essential this principle has become in our lives.
We have to make the other person feel important by showing our eagerness to know them. We are interested in others when they are interested in us this clearly tell us that this is a two way street and both parties benefit through it. I have learned a new thing in my life tonight that in order to win people you have to show your interest in them otherwise they never turn their attention towards you.
Applying this lesson to real life sometimes gets very difficult as people often get quite amused when I started taking interest in them, as they werent used to. Some people even said that if I was okay? One real example I would like to share here today is of my professor who was a real brilliant researcher and his articles are published worldwide. When finally he begun to teach our class, 2 semesters passed even 1 lab passed but not just once he mentioned about research or encouraged us to do that work. Then curiously one day I went to his office and asked him how to begun the work on my first research paper, I was astounded to see his response. Not only he helped me but he also initiated my research work and seeing the passion of 2 3 students he even announced in class to encourage students to take up research work in order to learn more.
This example perfectly relates to that principle that being interested is the key only then the person takes interest in us.
