You are beautiful just the way you are.
Do you wake up in the morning wondering why you’re still alive? Wake up and lay there wishing you didn’t have to move ever again? Do you sometimes feel alone in the world despite how many people actually surround you? Well then. I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. I am in this with you. In fact, I haven’t done it since I got pregnant with my firstborn in 2005 but I even used to make attempts on my own life. Fifteen on record, three that are not.
So even those of you with suicidal tendencies have me sitting in the dark with you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
I know this seems like a pointless thing to write about to some, but it isn’t. One person spreading the message that people like me are not alone can be the only thing that resonates with someone like me. Because it’s all well and good when you can say that you know of someone else’s pain, but it is another entirely when you can say you understand it. AND I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU GO THROUGH EVERY DAY. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
You’ve let so many people throughout your life create these thoughts and feelings inside you that it’s hard to believe otherwise. Especially in a world that tells you that there’s something wrong with you.
But you are perfect just the way you are.
Those scars inside you, those places where you hide who you are from the world, they are part of your beauty my friend. What has made you feel this way is not what defines you. The people who have hurt you can only define you if you let them. The softness you choose to treat others with, the very reason these people chose to treat you as if you were less, is more beautiful than they could ever understand and it is what makes you so worthy of the love and protection you deny yourself. You take the hurt and anger you could choose to take out on the rest of the world and turn it inward so that others don’t have to suffer in the same way, do you even consider how amazing and beautiful that is? I’ve learned to.
We’re a little battered and scarred on the inside, but we are perfect just the way we are. We exercise more empathy and sympathy on a weekday than most human beings do in their entire lives. We are beautiful, man.
You are perfect just the way you are. AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
