I have been in the same boat, but let me tell you one thing which this article does not cover. It does not talk about “time”. It takes a lot of time to build a successful business and when you have multiple businesses — it means more people, more dependencies & more time dedication when we all have 24 hours a day, it takes a toll on you and you have no work life balance.

The point where this person is “sailing while others are running his business” is a dream for most of us and IMHO i think it would easily take +5 years.

Also, Always believe less is more. If done well, a single business can make a killing ! I will try to ignore this article.
