The 15 minute daily practice tip

I want to perfect my guitar playing skills. I recently brought a nun chucks too which I fascinated playing while I was school. Now I guess is the time to do all these things.

But, it is always difficult to get going, follow the chain strategy which Jerry Seinfeld taught us. So how do we make sure that we don’t break the chain ? How do we make sure that we are consistent in our practice ?

Well, the answer is two fold :

  1. Never underestimate the importance of 15 min practice. Its effect is similar to compounding. We know that 1.01^365 = 37.78 ! Can you imagine. Just putting .01 on 1 can take you to 37. Such is the impact ! So, these small 15 minutes would take you to place you cant even imagine. So do it, it would be tough to shift from one activity to another. But that’s all, successful people are good in dealing with change. You should deal with this ! This is just a small price.
  2. Find a time when you can actually do it. I practice Nun chucks in the morning just after my morning walk; then again I avoid all resistance and seamlessly shift to being a guitarist. I sometimes pick guitar, practice some chords and strumming patterns for my new song and then shift to Nun chucks and then again back to guitar. I do it when I switch on my geyser to take a bath. This time is fixed for these two activities.

So, follow the 15 minute rule and block time to actually implement it. If it doesn’t work I will give you a treat anywhere on earth !
