EXAMINATION PRAYER FOR SUCCESS

What is Exam Anxiety Disorder? Are you experiencing exam fever?

Are you or your child sitting for final examinations?

Here is how to support your child during exams with The Spiritual Backup.

Nervousness is all over!

It’s a season of trial.

The ‘weighing’ of an academic year has grown nigh. Exams are around the corner. Is your child experiencing exam fever? Are you praying for your child’s examination? Did you know that it is essential to pray for exams?

What about fear? Many students encounter exam fever. They become fearful during this examination period. Exam Fever is a disorder that brings anxiety whereby stress levels tend to strike above their standard rate. They even throw tantrums.

It is at this time you would hear your children complain of vomiting, headache, “Oh daddy, am feeling dizzy, my stomach is aching, I can’t sit for my exam” and many more undesirable statements.

This Fever should be taken care of immensely by praying and encouraging the candidates.

The big question.

Here is the big question. Which grade is your child going to attain? Is it his/her final exams? Is it that time when his/her studies are to be put-to-test? Which semester or term is it? How prepared is the student?

It’s a mind-boggling scenario, Right?

The bible says that God will bless their efforts. Do not be dismayed. Do not be troubled. John 14:27 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear

1 John 4:18

Check it out!

Saying good-bye. It is at this alarming part of the year, a sentimental moment, where parents bid their children goodbye, back to their teacher’s gifted hands. Children receive wordings like; “go-back-to-school my child, have a safe journey — my love, study hard, obey your teachers, do your best and, let God take control; He will surely bless your efforts.”

Besides, scriptures in the Bible, Quran, or any other; inspirational statements, are also ‘intermingling’ within the conversation, which puts both parents and the student into the test. What message have you passed across to your child? God exists. Am I right? Well, that is true, I believe…

I imagine how such kind of conversations rents the air in most of us parents. I also bid mine lately — we had a mother-daughter talk.

“This is your final lap, the ‘road test’ quarterly done; you are in the finish line — almost through. You are now at your peak, just about to sit for your final exam, now go at peace my daughter. Make a Plan; the roadmap is clear. Your destiny will soon be put to the test by the results you will bring back home. In a short while, the results will be out. Every student will receive a grade or a test score. Do your best; God will bless your efforts”. That is it! We parted ways.

It will be a prayer success story.

At School

When at school, they all build their future. Furthermore, creative energy is all over. At the same juncture, they have to be under specific rules and regulations, but according to them they somehow think that this is a way of being rendered captive. Which is not.

A teacher will nurture and toil to get results nevertheless; it is up to the student to work hard to deliver results. “In learning, you will teach, and in teaching, you will learn.” ― Phil Collins

Therefore praying for examinations is part of success. It should be a routine. Let us intercede for our children by praying; this is a ‘season of the trial.’

What should parents do? “My sheep know my voice.”

- Parents should intercede and rebuke all the weaknesses that tend to demoralise students while sitting for exams.

- Do what it takes and provide the essentials.

- Yes! Prayers are needful — our children are being “weighed” on their academic strengths. — “Put your faith in what you most believe in.” ― Phil Collins, Disney’s Tarzan

Parents: Are you feeling stressed during this exam too? Then Adopt a system.

Let praying to be like a system. What is a system in this case? It means doing a particular activity daily that should be engaged in you over a period to achieve a specific goal — until it gets into the system.

For example, to obtain an A- in school, a system has to be put in place. A culture of reading, you get into this habit until when not done in a day, you feel like there is something missing inside of you — as if you have not brushed your teeth for a week.

Bit by bit we climb the ladder of success, it is said, “success is not a day job. It is a daily job.”

The Spiritual backup

Well, am not here to preach any denomination or any Religion whatsoever, but all am saying is that we need a supreme being to oversee this situation. That which will be with the candidates supernaturally at this time of need. The Omnipresent. Yes! We need a Supernatural being.

We need a spiritual backup in all of our undertaking. — It is all vanity without this backup.

Here are some of the Prayer Requests to consider.

Wisdom

It is a promise that a lot of knowledge is in store. Let us seek this precious gold. Praying for students will increase their IQ values. James 1:5 states that “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach.” Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…”

Knowledge

The advantage of Knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it. Ecclesiastes 7:12

Favour

Let our children receive support as Psalm 5:12 says “For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favour as with a shield.” Colossians 2:3

Let’s pray for the children and believe it will work. They will receive favour from God as in Luke 2:52. It says, And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

I have come across a testimony of how a parent prayed for his child who was lagging with poor grades in school, and God obtained favour — the child excelled the final exam.

Another testimony is of a person who improved on his physics CBSE Board exam. Yes! Jesus helps. Its all about having Faith in God.

Confidence

1 John 5:14 If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. If a child has confidence while sitting for exams, even when the results are out, the child will be contented. -“I did my best.”

Praying

Dear God,

  • Lord, take charge and let your gentle hand be upon them.
  • For wisdom that comes from thee. Let it shine upon their lives.
  • They will be able to concentrate on their revisions.
  • You help them do exceptionally well on these awaited examinations.
  • You have Great favour upon them in their learning and understanding.
  • Let them understand all the questions and answer them appropriately.
  • We pray that you may increase confidence in them to face their final exams.
  • Surround them with your amazing Grace and bless their efforts.
  • Cast out every fear and let them receive a sharp mind.
  • Give them peace that outshines any human understanding.
  • Above all let them seek thee in all their undertaking.

Lord! Strengthen our children as Philippians 4:13 states, where it says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Have faith in God.
