I’m not a nutritionist. I haven’t studied nutrition, and I don’t know a thing about the alimentary canal beyond what I learned in high school.

And yet I make nutritional decisions every day, and I’m in pretty good health. I read about nutrition often, and I have to decide for myself what to believe. How do I do that? What tips me off that an article or diet program is sound, and worth following?
