They may not be for everyone, but everyone should consider an agent for these simple reasons before considering a recruiter:

1. The AGENT will keep your best interest in mind, because their success is tied to your success. They are there making sure you succeed.
2. You decide what you are comfortable spending your time on rather than wasting time filtering out the noise. (huge intangible)

I agree with this 100%. Good article and great points. I have met one or two recruiters that should be agents instead. Unfortunately, over my career, I have had to deal with too many recruiters.
