I haven't had to show ID in over a decade. I live in a small town where everyone is known. The nearest DMV is over 20 miles away and only open one day a week . The one open every day is 40 miles away. There is no public transportation except a van you can hire and most of the town doesn't have a mailbox at their home so they can't get a new ID mailed to them.
