A Cup of Coffee and a Conversation
The weather finally cooled off in the middle of a rain storm! Here is hoping it stays that way. The fuzzy warm red blanket is on the bed now. It is a great time of year. It was also a full moon last night called Hunter’s Moon! I cannot say I am hunting anything except words for the page.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I made apple slices this weekend from the fruit we picked at the orchard last weekend. They are like flat apple pie with icing and delicious. The house smelled so good when they were baking.
If we were having coffee I would tell you this week was full. There were a couple days at work that got rearranged and not by me. I always handle it better when I am the one changing it but I have to roll with it.
If we were having coffee I would tell you I had a great day Tuesday at a training sponsored by the Indiana Department of Education. It was a day full of math rich tasks and was super fun. I spent the day with a teacher I am working with this year and we were able to chat in a more personal way. We laughed and had a nice lunch too.
If we were having coffee I would tell you I went for several walks this week on the trail. It was cooler most days and the trees were pretty. I felt much better getting out there. I also have been doing my yoga everyday as part of my 100 day project. It is just a few poses but it is a yoga practice.
If we were having coffee I would tell you I received some news this week that is going to change my plans for the next couple of years. More details will come later, but I am glad to know now. Big changes are coming for me though.
Do you need a refill — or a cup of water? It is chilly so I am going to have more coffee!
If we were having coffee I would tell you I woke up this morning thinking about Young Authors’ Conference. Did you participate in this when you were in elementary school? It was always my favorite part of the school year. I believe I still have a couple of my books in a box somewhere! I had my first taste of fanfic back then — I wrote about a Smurf as my main character. Please don’t judge me.
If we were having coffee I would tell you I lost my library card this week. That would have been problematic. Luckily my hubby found it in the washing machine. I picked up a short story collection by Diane Williams who I had never read before this week. I must admit her writing I find a bit cryptic but interesting. I have been rereading my Natalie Goldberg book about her writing retreats and how she runs them.
If we were having coffee I would tell you I had 2 critique group meetings this week. Both were full of great comments to help me with my writing. I also did morning pages every day, my freewriting, and poetry writing. It was a good writing week.
What were you up to this week? I am so glad we were able to visit again this Sunday. I am flying south this week so I will update you next weekend about that adventure.
