I am so glad you are joining me for coffee today! This post is inspired by Eclectic Alli. My summer has officially started and I am feeling spectacular! Let’s take our coffee to go and take a little walk in the sun and then we can sit under the trees as the time stretches on. We can even sit in the new treehouse in the backyard if we are so inclined!

If we were having coffee I would tell you before my hubby and I went to see Daniel Tosh do his standup at the Chicago Theater we went to get a little bite to eat at Petterino’s restaurant. There were caricatures all over the walls and amazing food on the menu. We had little filet mignon sliders with fries. We tried to get one of their signature appetizers but they had run out in the kitchen that late at night. I had a drink called the “Sparkling French”. It was amazing and it tasted like a second one as my Opa would say.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I had an enlightening and entertaining video chat with my Storyaday people on Monday. For people who have been writing together for over a year [with a few new additions], it takes us a while to warm up and talk to each other. It usually takes a question to get us rolling.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I also had a video chat with another writer friend about Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones book. I am lucky to have been exposed to this book as early as college. Some writers have never heard of it! I have found this with Julia Cameron’s The Artist Way as well. The conversation we had was fascinating as we are connecting our writing lives now with Natalie’s words first published in 1986.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I went to the John Wick 3 movie this week. I love these movies! I did not like the ending as I thought it was a bit unbelievable. I did not analyze the movie as a writer the whole time either and just sank into it, laughed, and enjoyed it. I would still highly recommend it.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I have been doing lots and lots of writing and submitting. There was a dare essentially given in the Storyaday writers call on Monday and I went to town submitting this week. The worst they can tell me is NO. The best is to get paid and published and still pretty good is to get some feedback!

If we were having coffee I would tell you I started a new book Maybe You Should Talk to Someone and also a book called The Way of the Peaceful Warrior recommended by hubby.

Ahhh, our walk was nice but now it is time to sit. I am going to get a glass of water and some more coffee. What would you like me to bring you from the kitchen?

If we were having coffee I would tell you I started a writing course on Friday. I love the format and all the writing that comes with it. Just like to become a better reader you need to READ; to be a better writer you need to WRITE. This course is giving me the opportunity for lots of writing and reading analysis. I am over the moon!

If we were having coffee I would tell you I had a somewhat wasted trip on Thursday. I was supposed to have a meeting that ended up getting rescheduled for next week. I did get some info and had sushi with a friend but it took a lot more time without the results I wanted.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I went for a bike ride through a nearby town with a lovely downtown and a series of trails by Lake Michigan. The weather was a bit strange as there was misty fog rolling in off the lake. We even heard the fog horn! We rode through neighborhoods of perfectly manicured lawns and cool looking houses. A building that in a previous not so distant life was a library is being converted to a family home and we stopped and talked to the new owners.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that in the vein of the thought pattern of living a rich life I feel like I have been splurging on writing time! It is my magical happy place and to allow the schedule to hold it feels like I am a child again. I took myself to the Librarium Cafe after a run yesterday and had a Butter Brew with Espresso. I also took myself to the used book store which was wonderful. I found a book of short stories and an older Berg writing book I used to have a copy of for $2.15! What do you feel like you are splurging on with time or finances lately?

Happy Sunday! If you would like to support me additionally you are welcome to buy me a cup of coffee: http://ko-fi.com/tammybreitweiser

What will you tell me while we have coffee?
