A question asked of me on Quora.com. To learn to read faster, take a speed-reading course. To retain more of what you read, read slower and more deliberately, with purpose, and write notes on paper of what you have read. It helps sometimes to actually read out loud, since hearing information while seeing the same information increases the brain’s engagement with that information. And if you read something out loud and then write it down yourself, you’ve added another layer of cognitive engagement, and you’ll remember that much more.
