Career

After completing his studies, he began his career as Assistant Director of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Vidhu has helped Vinod Chopra in films such as Parnida and 1942: A Love Story. In 1996, for the first time, he wrote and directed his film Khamoshi: The Musical, starring Manisha Koirala, Salman Khan and Nana Battikar. Although this film did not go well at the box office, it was critically acclaimed. His second film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, came in 1999. He produced a romantic drama that was not only liked by the audience, but was shown in the Indian Panorama section of the 1999 India International Film Festival. The third film arrived in Devdas in 2002. I had stepped up Bhansali’s career to the fullest. The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002. This film was presented to the Academy Award for best foreign film. In 2005, he released his stunning Black Movie, which broke all records and reached 11 awards in 2006. Even Black was selected by Time magazine as Europe’s fifth of the top 10 films of 2005 worldwide.

In 2007, he released his next film “Sawarya” starring Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. This was a serious failure at the box office and even a film criticized by Sanjay Leila Bhansali.

In 2010, he made his next film Guzzarish, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan. He directed and produced this film Sanjay Leila Bhansali and even composed the music for the film.

He was sentenced to the reality of dancing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 1 with Shilpa Shetty and Farah Khan in 2006. In 2011, again, Show X Factor India was judged with Shreya Ghosal and Sonu Nigam.

In 2017 again, Sanjay Leila Bhansali came to the stage with her controversial film, Padmavat controversial. There were disagreements over the film’s ideas that Queen Rajput’s representation in the film had been misinterpreted and that the other facts were distorted.
