What made my antennae go up about the tales we were told is that victims of domestic violence do not tend to use their real names on social media.

But…I do! This is me! Genuinely me!

But my tales are rather mild, relatable; they focus on me more than him; they’re probably more like the tales most people write about depression or anxiety, in their tone, their reflexive nature.

And, ultimately, I’m here to write. I want my name attached to the things I write.

So that’s one of those warning signs I thought nothing of.
