I think it’s important to establish whether someone likes me despite the challenges (because it takes effort to focus on similarities and not differences) or because of them.
Someone liking my challenge sounds like someone who wants to win. Like someone who sees parts of me as an obstacle to overcome, to be defeated. Like someone who might apologise because they regret having said something completely pig-headed (e.g. that my opinion is wrong or they I shouldn’t speak it) which put them out of the game…and now they want back in.
Make sure you know what you want, Terijo, and what you need, and what you stand for, and don’t tolerate anyone telling you differently. Trust your own judgement on this guy, and if he’s not keeping his side of the bargain, look after yourself first.
Roller-coasters are fun for a while but too much time on one can make you feel sick. And if they go off the rails, it’s catastrophic.
