FUJIFILM XT 200 REVIEW

Fujifilm, the brand most popular for their film cameras and retro aesthetics on polaroids, most recently updated their range of mirrorless digital cameras for beginners with the highly advanced XT200. Replacing its predecessor, the XT100, the 200 had great shoes to fill for the brand after the hugely disappointing response of the static older model. In a world of A7s and M50s, this camera offers the perfect balance between advanced and beginner photographers, right from its crisp video quality to its large offering of modes to switch between. Fuji gives us options to capture and record in 4k with no large crops making it an ideal choice to film in. Despite its relatively larger, now OLED display module, the camera still happens to be lighter than its predecessor by a whole 20 grams making it just portable enough. The hardware on the camera is something to be stared at for hours. Just holding the camera and looking at it creates a great feel in the hands of any photographer. It is well built with an ergonomic flash that, however, comes with a mic input that can cause obstructions with the display folded out. Well, obviously, that doesn’t cause any drawbacks in more than outstanding image quality and the ability of customization offered by the brand. It certainly has the righteous sense it deserves with its Electronic Viewfinder. Another great offering in the new variant was the ability to compare the presets installed in the camera by default to the original image. The digital gimbal, which is claimed to get better with more software updates is something to look after too.

The XT200 is currently priced at around INR 50000 (or USD 670). It comes in 3 colours: Chrome, Dark Silver, and Rose Gold. The lens it comes with is the famous 15–45, accompanied by a brown leather bag and a 32 GB SD card. All in all, a perfect camera for beginners, especially those who wanna ditch the heavy weights and low focus points in modern day budget DSLRs.
