movie night in the fillmore

the clay theatre is one of our favorites and a few years ago we saw the animated french film “The Illusionist” here and it was a magical experience. theres only one screening room, so the film for the night was Magic in the Moonlight, a really delightful and classic romance that felt like an oldie.

eating at la Mediterranee beforehand is a must. its right across the street and their hummus and tabbouleh is simply the best. get the moroccan tea-theres free refills, which is apparently how they really do it in Morocco, according to our dinner mate Swiemo who lived there a while. We enjoyed catching up with her.

unfortunately during the movie, one of my contacts fell out and i had to cover the blind eye in order to finish the film :/. it ended up being quite an adventure though going through the city, across the bay on the golden gate bridge, and to Rodeo Beach right by our hostel for a night time beach stroll half blind. i would do it again the same way in fact. it added just a little more fear and adrenaline; just riding the scooter was becoming a little passe. i also enjoyed attempting some night time photos and go pro action, so i could actually see all that i was passing later on.
