Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach
Ocean beach is an area of SF, but to me it feels like an entirely different town. it’s on the beach quite obviously and is a lot quieter. its mostly the local surfers, craftsman, and artists who live over here. its always a little colder and more blustery, delightfully so. warm yourself up at Outerlands with some spiced ginger lemon apple cider or coffee (obviously i chose coffee), tomato soup (its the best i’ve had), and a grilled cheese (or the fried egg and bacon open face like we did…come on it had aoli. and bacon. really good bacon).
This is one of the most beautiful walks in the city. Start at Land’s End and take the California coastal trail—it goes all the way to the bridge but we ran out of time for we decided to sit at this little spot for a quite a while and soak it in.
the Holland windmills are in the Ocean Beach side of the Golden Gate park. they’re always one of our favorites.

we stopped here and both got some very north-cal-esque wear.
i could live in this, i think that’d be alright
Outerlands restaurant. its perfect and cozy. grab a quilt at the door to help stay warm and add to the romance of the atmosphere.
the meal i described in the story above. we got here at 11 so they were still serving some breakfast items and pastries. the chocolate and grey salt donut was lovely.
we also came back for dinner here. beautiful little gem salad wiht puffed rice and pears, and a delicious lcoal chicken dish with fried egg and vegetables.
heirloom tomatoes
some kind of sweet bread with hazelnuts, coffee ice cream, and roasted grapes.
this guy was really awesome: he saw me with my camera on the scooter getting pictures of him with his surfboard, and starting smiling really big and made this pose. i suppose he realized he was the perfect surfing stereotype and would make a perfect picture. i love people
