Dana Boyd’s book “It’s Complicated” gives a nuanced picture of teens and social media. It’s a great further read for people interested in this topic. Dana’s point that social media spaces – are some of the only spaces that teens can hang out free from the prying eyes of parents and adults is worth thinking about and also explains why teens keep migrating to new messaging platforms when their parents arrive on it.
