Ten Days Till Twenty
How far have I come in the past 20 years?
When I got up this morning I said to myself, “Holy crap…I’m almost done being a teenager!” While I said this with great gumption and enthusiasm, there was a lingering feeling in the back of my head — what’s next? More importantly, have I lived the past 20 years to the fullest?
- I got my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo.
- I completely taught myself Graphic Design at age 13.
- At 14, I again taught myself to design websites in Joomla and WordPress.
- I've been to New York City over 10 times, California 4 times, Mexico Twice, and a boat load of other places.
- I graduated high school — that’s important I guess.
- I lived in D.C. for a year and studied at George Washington University.
- I started a business.
- I made many great friends between home and school in D.C.
So now I’m sitting here mere days away from 20 wondering what life has in store for me now. Ever since I turned 18 time has been moving faster than ever before. It’s scary knowing that I’ll soon have only 365 days until I can legally drink, 1,825 days until I can rent a car, and about 16,425 until I retire…
The next 20 years will be just as fast, if not faster. I know it. My ever prevalent goal will continue to be — Live Life To The Fullest. I've made decisions where I look back and am thankful for having done so, but I've also made choices that caused me to look back wondering, “Why did I do that?” Our future is never clear and there will always be a million different possibilities.
