How to design a poster using Midjourney’s “Style Reference Code”?
Taking a cue from this past Father’s Day, we’re showcasing some Father’s Day-themed AI marketing posters today.
All the images shown in the story are generated from AI, and today we use a special feature of Midjourney to create the posters, it’s called “Random Style Reference”. The Maze Guru platform I’m using now supports this feature in the web product, allowing users to randomly switch between styles with just one click. Here is a brief introduction to this feature:
Midjourney’s random style reference feature is a unique tool that enhances the creative process by providing spontaneous and diverse artistic styles for inspiration. This feature allows users to explore a wide range of artistic expressions without the need to specify a particular style. By generating random styles, it encourages experimentation and helps users discover new artistic possibilities that they may not have considered otherwise.
And there is a specific code for the presentation of random styles, written as sref [code] (e.g. — sref 234231345), which has a random range of 0–999999999999. Each code represents a style. So let’s see how to use it.
⭐Using it at Maze Guru
- Go to the web: https://maze.guru/gpt/square
2、Use the random mode, enter the MJ/Niji character interface (only support these two characters), find the “style reference function” on the right side, click the dice icon will randomize a code.
3、Use a specific code, enter the excellent style code you have saved in the AI community.
4、Finish the basic settings and enter your prompt to use it.

🔨Step 1 Find the right sref code for the Father’s Day theme (using random code style is too uncertain and time consuming), here I used a few nice codes saved in the AI community.
🔨Step 2 Prepare the Father’s Day slogans needed for the poster and add them to the image later via Canva. Here we use ChatGPT to generate the copy.
🔨Step 3 Prepare the prompt you need and generate the AI background image in Maze Guru
Prompt: The blurred daughter’s smile superimposed on the side of the father’s face, clean aesthetic cinematic image, advertisement, Cinestill 800T
🔨Step 4 Add the title or copy in Canva
Simple right? It’s done in just four steps, no need for complicated basemap design, you just need to conceptualize a background and translate it into AI-readable prompt language.
