Business IS personal

Usually when I hear the words “Nothing personal” what comes to my mind is “That must have been personal…”.
A boss can fire or demote somebody saying “nothing personal”, while underlying lack of trust on personal level is the actual reason, an employee can act without taking into consideration the other party’s feelings and justify his actions with “just business”, a business owner can sabotage another business simply by not doing something, you can be unfair in many ways while still staying in the frames of the “business ethics”. The problem with “nothing personal” is that usually it’s a lie.
You can deny the “personal layer” in professional relationships as much as you want, but at the end it is people you work with and you work for and this is very personal.
A business is never just facts, never just numbers.
People’s paths might cross and split, but when things are fair usually nobody is left with hurt feelings.
Here is a short amateur video illustrating how we do it at Vox Teneo:
Living in the 21st century, the century of the 4Cs: Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity and Collaboration and trying to be “strictly business” makes no sense…
