Hi, thank you for the comment. Your comment is valid, which I also thought of. However, I decided not to directly applying the unique visual property of the book (i.e., the cover) to the visualization, because the approach would be actually against the primary goal (grouping & ordering books) and the design principles (representing abstract attributes of a book into visual elements). Distinguishing every single book would overpower this intension. To compensate this, I added search UI and click/touch interaction — when you click an individual book, you’ll see an overlay view that contains all the details information of the book including book cover and author’s photo.
