Unhanded, a second, unnoticed.
My face is up everywhere
My name is sung by everyone
Now, I’m famous.

Posters, searchlights, trackdogs.
In the park catching butterflies
And Mark and Ayo;
Swinging till they could fly,
But just across were watchful eyes.
Now, I'm a butterfly.

Alone, cold, tied.
"He will come for you,
The Boogeyman,
With claws for hands
And three legs more.
So be a good boy;
He overlooks those"
So mama said
And I tried to be good.
Now, I'm missing.

Screams tears blood.
But you were wrong.
Yes, he came
But without the claw.
With just two legs;
Like every other man.
With a smile to add;
He seemed very nice.
But far from it,
He clearly is.
Although you watched me,
He watched even more.
