a few possible questions we could ask. Firstly 2–3 question is to build a baseline to know why candidate come to this interview. The key point is to really know why candidate leave previous company. Then following by the questions which go deeper to find of those reason relative to “self-motivation”

For example

(1) why did you leave your company? A: because I want to learn more and growth more

(2) why you can’t learn more? A: because the job is repeating itself and I feel boring (this might be a yellow-flag, but not actually be a red-flag)

(3) what kind of job is repeating on you? A: because this company’s app is in maintenance mode, we just need to maintain existing code…..(this might be a red-flag for all tech company, since a period of maintenance is pretty reasonable. If that is the reason for not motivated, then it is a problem)
