How is Hillary a queer ally [for instance], an ally to my community, if she is supporting…

Hi Morgana,

You seem to believe that you have the sole right to speak for the marginalized, that there’s a unified front of queer, non-white, immigrants who are giving you the right to speak for them. I agree with some of your points, yet you do realize that by appointing yourself as spokesperson for a vast community of billions of people, you’re taking their voice away?

I am voting for Hillary. I am brown. I have been a victim of racism in America. I am voting for Hillary. I understand that she has advocated imperialist policies, that her foreign policy advocates unconditional support for an apartheid regime that has directly harmed my family members abroad. I am voting for Hillary. I am terrified of Donald Trump in a way that far surpasses any normal amount of apprehension for the rise of a leader whose politics I do not agree with. I am voting for Hillary. The Democrats are by no means the best that they can be, but it is ludicrous for people to claim — as the “brown, queer, leftist” did in your article — that they are no better than Trump. If they do, they have not been paying much attention to American politics in the last year.

I am voting for Hillary, and I don’t need you to use your “marginalized” status to talk down to me. I don’t need a stranger to tell me about my motivations for exercising my political freedoms.

You say, “and with y’all voting for Hillary because you put yourself above others, I’ll be worried about my safety and protection.”

So….you’ll be putting yourself above others as well, then?
