The opening of the show began with ribbon cutting, official openining night & opening remarks. A prestigious red carpet event with tight security, press, well dressed attendees, caters walking around serving champagne, wine, cocktails & Hors d’oeuvre.

The Art Fair located was in a 40,000 sq Ft pavilion on private estate grounds. 56 exhibitors from 11 countries were part of this Art Fair. Switzerland, Spain, France, Japan, Uk, Cuba and USA are some of the countries part of this fair. The sponsors include Sotheby’s International Reality, Long House Reserve, Modern Luxury’s Beach, Flowerbox Wall Gardens, Porsche, Hamptons H20, Perrier, just to name a few.

There were many contemporary, modern paintings that were pride of the Art Fair’s walls and artists represeting themselves and their expertise. I decided to write about Artists and their art who provided full information on the art they represented ( the depth and meaning of their art) and a brief about themselves. There are a few personal favorite pieces of art that I would like to talk about and show as it is connected to Fashion (reminds me of Fashion and color) and were successful in capturing my attention.

Bryan Grose: Born in Rochester, Ny, in a nurturing, creative environment, coupled with the contrasting experiences of city and rural life, that enabled to bring out the inner artist. According to Grose, his paintings are characterized as industrial, modern and abstract. His drawing inspiration comes from modernism, architecture, furnishings and fashion. “I express in art what I perceive as curious in the world around me. Within the cold concrete and steel buildings manifests a vibrant countercultural creativity that is evident in many forms.”

Howard Schatz: Gave up his career as a surgeon to follow his passion for photography. He was awarded the 2015 IPA International Photography Award for Book of the Year. (The IPA award is considered among the most prestigious in the field of Photography). His Underwater Photography, Water Dance and Pool Light takes the magic of weightless and the beauty of dance to new heights. “His dancers are utterly elegant as borrowed from a dream.”

Wayne Charles Roth: He is a traditionally trained painter who draws and creates every element in his work. He then assembles the final composition using a computer and the latest printing technology to produce his final pieces. His paintings are for the 21st century. His art creates drama. His pieces have power, beauty, rich details, use of bold colors and fluid compositions. He aims to move his audience and his goal is to create compelling art that speaks to us and the time we live in.

Gavin Rain: Born in Cape town and studied art. His paintings consists of small concentric dots, painted in different colors of acrylic. From close up, the painting just look like small dots but as you step back, further away from the painting, the portrait becomes clearer and clearer and takes a surprising shape and form. ( the painting becomes a whole and not just as dots). His message lies in the backing off. “ To acquire the awareness of something that is concealed yet right in front of your eyes.” His message is also to create distance in life. “To view the big picture, the whole without worrying about indiviual points of view.”

Marlene Rose: An Award winning glass sculptor. Her work is collected by the Hollywood A-List celebrities & fine art collectors. Each piece is hand casted from molten glass into a unique modern work of art with references from other cultures & civilizations. She very beautifully showed the Buddha sculpted in glass in different colors such as sea foam and gold and describes what Glass means and the powerful, divine meaning Of Buddha. The Buddha ( sculpted in Glass. A very impressive presentation. The Artist herself was present at the Art Fair, speaking with the attendees) “is a symbol of Peace, Tranquility, & the understanding that comes from personal inner knowledge. The great circle behind it is infinity, life beginning and ending forever.”

The Glass expresses “the clarity of thought we all aspire to and it constantly changes both as the viewer moves past it and light plays within it. It is a marker for the better life we all hope for and a reminder that a better future lies within all of us.”

The above artists and their arts captured my attention. There are few other pieces of art that I am intriguied by and would like to share. The use of colors in the paintings are very vibrant and eye catching. Some of the colors represented at the Art Fair are very much in Trend now and are the colors of the season.

These different pieces of art, photography speaks to the viewer. It seems like a Fashion Scene quiet English in my point of view, English Lifestyle. something like what we read in Charles Dickens books, The adventures of David Copperfield and Huckleberry Finn.

(The lady with the latern on a canoe, so Fashionably Dressed, waiting for something that is unknown, it reminds me of the time when I went canoeing with my friends, it was dark, rainy and stormy night, we had no light whatsoever but we managed to reach our destination.)

The Emerald Green Dress, quiet impressive, A scene in a room with the old fashion typewritter, tea kettle, some vintage books, novels and a cup full of tea. The lady sits patiently in the room, almost looks like she is waiting for something but not sure. It makes the viewers imagine and takes us directly to the scene so powerfuly created.

I was also intrigued by some pop art shown at the Art Fair. The bright colors, the iconic faces and the use of imagination.

This in a brief was a journey, I enjoyed thoroughly at Art Hamptons and wanted to share. I hope you enjoyed reading and viewing the images as much as I did. It was quiet refreshing indeed.
