Ladies want these things from you, gentlemen, and you’ll stand out to a very special one if you do them.

As a single mother who re-entered the dating scene in my early 30s, I encountered my fair share of men who wanted me to like them, and on paper, I should have. They were good-looking and could correctly punctuate a sentence. Some were even doctors, lawyers, or businessmen.

But whether it be through messages or in person, I started to notice patterns of why some guys didn’t hold my interest and why they probably weren’t holding the interest of other available women either.

Here are some things you can employ to make a woman crazy for you instead of all those other guys who may be filling up her inbox. …

In my early 20s, I became intensely close to a girl named Laura. I’d just moved to the area a couple of years before and struggled to find my “place,” so she was my first real friend in a while. I idolized and envied her. She seemed so carefree and happy, beautiful and cheerful.

We were both adamant about not dating for a year, but not even six months into it, she started talking to a few guys who kept breadcrumbing her.

Why do you keep talking to these stupid guys?” I railed her.

“Because I want to! What’s the big deal?” …

It sounds clichéd, but this really is the first day of the rest of your life.

To My Friend,

I have been exactly where you are, and I survived this first day.

This day when you wake up legally…alone, when you open your eyes, in a bed that you once shared with your spouse or one you never have, and you start shaking because as you blink up at the ceiling and realize what day it is, it dawns on you that life as you knew it is over.

You may not want to get up because you don’t know how.

How are you going to face your friends? Your children? Your boss? How are you going to navigate life as now a single person when you have been an attached one for however long? What actually will your hands do when they aren’t holding your spouse’s?!?
