A Letter: Unfiltered

A Letter: Unfiltered

With you
I don’t like to try.
When I come to see you,
I dress down
In jeans and tees,
No makeup.
Because can’t you see?
I don’t want you
To fall in love
With the idea of me,
The made up,
Polished,
Restrained
Version of myself.
I don’t know if
You know
All I can be
If I try.
But I don’t care
And I don’t want to,
Because I want you
To see me as I am,
With all my insecurities bare.
I tell you of my weaknesses
Let my vices manifest
Unashamedly,
I cry
I laugh,
I scream.
I let myself be
Stripped of all that clothe me,
Because all I want is
For you to see me
The way I am
Flaws and all,
Unfiltered and untouched
Just the way I am.
