Breakfast isn’t the most important meal….

You may have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, sets you up for the day etc etc…. Not totally true and here’s why.

Yes breakfast may set you up for the day but it’s not totally essential to eat breakfast to lead a healthy, happy life or even to lose weight. You see what really matters in the grand scheme is calories in vs calories out. If you are eating less calories than what you’re body needs you will lose weight and if you are eating more than what your body needs you will gain weight.

There is nothing special about eating in the morning and triggering weight loss. Everyone eats differently and everyone prefers different ways of eating so there is no “one way fits all”. Some prefer to eat mid morning, some early morning (that’s me I can eat breakfast at 5am no problem lol my stomach is growling by then). If you’re not eating breakfast at least have a pint of water, as you haven’t drank anything whilst being asleep you’re more than likely dehydrated, trust me you’ll notice the difference once you’re drinking more water (read full blog here https://medium.com/tara-hall-fitness/why-do-we-need-to-drink-water-d675b2426f26 )

So if you’re not a breakfast person, don’t worry just eat something high in nutritional value when you are hungry during the day or if you workout early make sure you eat after working out to replenish glycogen stores and to help your body recover and rebuild.

There are no fad diets, no myths, no magical ways to lose weight, no magical diet pills, shakes or wraps or whatever else there is. Move more, eat less essentially, more veggies, more protein, more WATER — everyone must know how much I go on about this now!

So to conclude — breakfast isn’t the most important meal as long as you’re eating within your calories and macronutrients and eating 80% unprocessed nutritional food 100% of the time you’ll be fine
