Your Vacant Stare Cuts to the Bone

Your smile last night was so genuine. It was beautiful. You are beautiful when you smile for real.

Your blank stares cut me to the bone… just like his vacancy cut me to the bone night after night and week after week and year after year.

Just like her indifference cut me to the bone when we last spoke — me in deep sorrow, her in deep denial.

A vacant stare in the face of suffering is a trauma response.

Your trauma becomes my trauma in your vacant stares.

I don’t want to see any more vacant stares for the rest of my life.

I’ve had more than my fill.

Cold stone.
🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

Love shouldn’t feel like a cold stone or a vacant stare. 🥶

Love should feel warm and soft like a tender hug and sweet smile. ♥️

Coldness behind a smile just for show is the coldest kind of cold.

Love emanating from a genuine smile is the loveliest warm.

Be genuine.

Be kind.

Be loving.

Smile more — for real.
