RecommendMe launches!

And we’re off! Earlier this month, the team at RecommendMe invited professionals involved in Adult Social Care to our offices in Kings Cross for our first product launch. The busy evening was a great celebration of our work so far, our pilot in Camden and our vision for the year ahead.

I kicked off the evening with an introduction to the challenges and opportunities faced by society in the years ahead (ageing demographic, budget cuts to local government, the evolving role of local government in health and social care) and our mission to address these challenges. Introducing our use of Behaviour Change Techniques to improve conditions and reduce barriers outlined our approach to nurture healthy ageing to achieve real physical and mental health outcomes.

Our COO Georgina Knock introduced our invited speakers; Professor Nick Tyler, Councilor Allison Kelly and Diana Scarrot — each providing an informative account of their experiences with RecommendMe, from concept to codesign. Fellow cofounder Dr David Greenberg hosted an exciting panel and open floor Q&A which included a great exchange of ideas and even an impromptu, fiery motivational speech from an inspirational Camden resident who loves keeping active! We rounded the evening off with nibbles and networking!

It’s been a great journey, from our first pitches at the UCL Grand Challenges and Summer Accelerator to becoming a key service delivery partner in the Big Lottery funded Ageing Better in Camden project…it’s certainly been an exhilarating ride! After a successful year in Camden we’re now excited to bring RecommendMe to residents of London and across the country!

From winning the UCL Advances Summer Accelerator to our launch in Feb 2017!
