A reliable Home Assistant presence detection

For the past 5 months I’ve been trying to find a reliable way to detect presence in home assistant, I’ve tried different methods from ping, nmap to gps tracking apps. Even the bayesian sensor didn’t convince me that much.

Don’t get me wrong, if you are not like me and carry your phone wherever you go the mentioned methods might work for you, but even then they are not 100% reliable.

Without further ado here is the perfect presence detection method (well at least for me)

It has been working reliably for the past 2 months

all you need is:

Attiny85–433Mhz sender — 2032 battery

it sends a signal every 1 mn, for the receiver i ‘m using a sonoff rf bridge flashed with tasmota
