Each person is waiting for that thing to happen. It’s not a particular thing although it feels like one, it’s more like a crossing-over to the other side, a blossoming. We feel it is right there and so we wait like a sour fruit waiting to ripen. We feel we know what needs to happen to trigger it and we can see the change and describe it dryly in detail. We understand what needs to change in our behavior and we understand the change in attitude that is associated with that.
But we really only think we know.
This transformation might not happen for many. Some fruit never ripen. In others it may seem to span a lifetime, slowly and painfully appearing to change, camouflaged by the pages of time. For those who push themselves towards this change it will come suddenly. Like the metamorphosis of a butterfly it is glorious and happens in an instants. The change comes too simply, with ease. They realize in an instant something they have already known. They realize that this change that they were waiting for will never happen. It is not the nature of things.
It is at that point only that you can sit and really focus on what is happening around you. You’ve reached.
