An Opening of a Fake Starbucks coffee shop in Algeria goes Viral .

The website Tiktoker Oumnia Online shared a video clip last week on social networks. It showed the opening of a café bearing the "Starbucks" sign in the state of Oran.

The logo features a crowned mermaid, green aprons, similar drinks and cakes, logo-printed cups, decor closely resembling the real Starbucks, and a long queue for service... everything indicates that the American giant has finally opened a facility in Algeria.

The video owner says it's a real Starbucks franchise. They also showcased some products offered by the new establishment, such as the marble chocolate cake or the "Double Chocolate Frappuccino," which closely resembles those offered by Starbucks, with "a taste like that found abroad."

The video's creator also adds, "The decor is simple and aligns with Starbucks' global standards."

In contact with the BBC, which conducted the investigation, Starbucks' headquarters in London, as well as officials responsible for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, officially denied opening a branch in Oran, Algeria.

On the TikTok app, a man named S.H claims to be the manager of the establishment. He states that he obtained approval from a Starbucks manager to open a branch in Algeria during a trip to the United States, as reported by France Info.

According to him, the American manager informed him about Starbucks product revenues before agreeing that he would have to pay the licensing fee once the establishment becomes profitable.

The latest update of this story affirms the taking down of the Starbucks sign from the front door of the Algerian Oran now proven to be a fake Starbucks coffee shop.
