Rough sleeper number increases alarmingly in Birmingham. There are more than ten thousand homeless arrive in here. When the city is preparing for Christmas, many homeless people gather around the markets, stations and public places for money and shelter.

Homelessness is now turned into a big issue for the UK. Especially in the west midland area, this number is high. Their number increases in proportion to cold.

I have been following them and related news for last one month. And decided to research and find out the causes. On 29 November, one man died in cold. And I came to know that rough sleepers gathering mostly near the new street station, the old library, city centre and bull ring. I took interview of six among them. Some have camera consciousness, some can’t speak English. I tried to take interview of both men and women. And different ages as well. And tried to figure out how different the reactions of who are newly homeless and who are old. I also visited a homeless shelter St basils youth club to take an interview with Barry Hutch, their Fundraising Manager.

Mostly I was after the causes and current situation of the homeless people from a different perspective.

Khalid Mahmood, who is from London, homeless for 2 years.

Roxanne is from Birmingham, a woman and recently being homeless.

Another one is Mark, who has a dog what causes him lots of trouble.
