Hitting the reset button for a rockin’ 2014

How to get past your 2013 mishaps and take 2014 on with a smile and a purpose

#1- Learn from 2013 yet, LET IT GO!

Don’t harbor negative thoughts over things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the present moment and into the possibility of new adventures in 2014

#2- Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy

When you truly realize that we are all made up of energy and that you are personally responsible for the energy you bring, you will begin to choose JOY over bickering and HAPPINESS over worry

#3- Don’t compare your life to others

Comparing yourself to others is a waste of precious energy. You have no idea what their journey is all about, no idea of their pain or struggle. Remember, often times what you see on the outside is not necessarily a true representation of what is going on inside.

#4- You don’t have to win every argument

Sometimes you simply have to agree to disagree, and that is OK! Acknowledge the other persons opinion and move on. Take a step back and think, “what can I learn from this”.

#5- What other people think of you is none of your business

It is easy to get caught up in worrying about what other people think about you, this can send you into a tailspin because of assumptions. Focus on YOU and your goals. Be comfortable knowing that not everyone has the same vision as you, wish them well and allow them their opinion.

#6- No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

We all have those days… the days when you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. These are the days that you MUST dig a little bit deeper, give your all and remember that “This too shall pass”. Do not beat yourself up for being sad or lonely, acknowledge the feelings and MOVE ON

#7- Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Nourish the friendships you have in your life. Remember, a friendship strength is not determined by TIME, it’s determined by loyalty, dedication and respect. Whether a friendship is brand new or life long, cherish it and respect it OFTEN

#8- Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful

Surround yourself with things that make you happy and don’t be afraid to simply let go of things that do not serve a positive purpose in your life. This can be a hard step, just because the past is comfortable and familiar, does not mean it is positive! Step outside of your comfort zone… therein lies your TRUE happiness

#9- Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip

Be impeccable with your word. Time wasted speaking negatively about others is time you can never get back. Simply release that person or item from your life and move forward.

#10- Begin and end your day with positive affirmations, it WILL change your life

Show Gratitude DAILY, although negative things WILL happen throughout the day (that is a given) make a list each morning and evening of all the things you are thankful for… A grateful heart = a happy life
