I am a man who living and working in Japan. I suffered from long hour commuting same as many workers in Tokyo. To be more comfortable during commuting, I recently changed my daily morning routine. I used to wake up 6:00 AM. Instead, I now wake up 5:30 AM. I get on a train by 6:15. The merits of getting up early are as follows.
Firstly, at this early morning, I can have a seat. Therefore, I can learn, study and sleep during commuting time. I sometime feel a little sleepy, but I think I can get more satisfaction from getting up early.
Secondly, I can secure my time on weekdays. I used to have little time to study or enjoy hobbies. Now I have time to study before working. Average is 1 hour and half everyday. Even if I have small kids and I spend 2 hours with kids every day, I can develop my ability by getting up early.
Thirdly, I can feel self confidence. One way of differentiating myself from others is working from early morning. Some people feel it difficult to wake up early, and they work until late night. I can indicate that I am not a guy who work ineffectively during long time.
Getting up early is best way to improve your professionalism. Besides, I can balance work and family life. I strongly recommend work effectively and excellently by getting up early.
