A hermit is an old man whose age means that he is full of wisdom. Wearing a cloak, he stood on the top of a snow-covered mountain, with his head bowed in contemplation, and the lamp held high in his right hand, symbolizing truth, with a bright six-pointed star in it, the seal of Solomon, and the faint light representing the subconscious mind. That seemingly weak light, in the bleak snow night without human habitation, seems a little helpless, but for the old man, it is the truth, but also hope. The lamp does not illuminate the things in front of us, which symbolizes that we should not only blindly pursue distant dreams, but ignore the truth around us.

The crutch in the hands of the old man is just a wooden stick in the hands of the fool, the sorcerer’s hand to communicate with heaven and earth and the spear in the hand of the chariot to pursue victory, and at this time, after ignorance, enthusiasm, prosperity, it has become really so ordinary, just like the old Chinese saying “back to nature”. The old man is keeping the solitude of solitude, reflecting on his past, following the guidance of the lamp of truth, suggesting the hardships on the road of seeking truth, simplicity, indicating that only with an open mind to understand the world, with a constantly introspective attitude to explore the true self, can we obtain the correct result.

The hermit card represents you going out on your own, taking a little risk, leaving the usual things behind, and doing what you really want to do. Since the lantern’s light can only shine a short distance, there is no guarantee that it will be the right path. A hermit describes a quick glance at something in front of you. It’s also a card that represents inner success, and that requires going through something alone.
