I Was Good

Last night, I wanted to really express myself creatively. I have not seriously worked on a poem, or a piece of music in a long while, so I decided to just let myself be free. So, I took a poem that I started months ago, finished it, and then played a few chords on the piano over my own recorded voice. What you see below is the final product.

It is not perfect. I honestly cannot tell you how long it took me to get the phrasing to the point where I felt ‘okay’ with it. When it comes to my artwork, I am extremely particular…because I want it to be right. Even though I am not 100% pleased with how it came out, I am completely pleased and overjoyed that I created something. It lets me know that I “still have it.” It was nice to get those juices flowing.

This is just one way that I have learned to share my voice, and it is the first time I have done so in this way. So, I am sharing it with you. Let me know what you think!

Much love.

The poem is called, “I Was Good”.
