Step 1 Click the “File” menu and then select “Close Company/Logoff” option.

Step 2 Go to “File” menu again click “Utilities” and then select “Verify Data” option.

  1. Use the File Doctor- First thing you need to check is whether you are running your computer as the Administrator, if not then switch from user to admin. Download the free file doctor tool from the Internet, follow the Install Instructions and run diagnosis and repair, the tool will automatically guide you through the complete process.

Repair a Corrupted file in QuickBooks-

You will see instructions in the QuickBooks File Doctor wizard as the tool diagnoses your company files:

  • A Problem was found in your company file and the problem is fixed.
  • A Problem was found, but we’re unable to fix it:
  • Restore a backup and re-enter any transactions since the date the backup was made.
  • Replace your company file through QuickBooks Auto Data Recovery and re-enter any transactions since the recovery file was made.
  • Upload your company file to Data Services for manual repair.
  • Start a new company data file.
  • No Problem was found:
  • If you use QuickBooks on a network, try the Network diagnostic feature of the tool.
  • Restore a backup and re-enter any transactions since the date the backup was made
  • Upload your company file to Data Services for manual repair.
  1. If you have problems opening your file over a network or multi-user problems, edit the Advanced Settings to run the Network Diagnosis only:
  • The company file is on another computer (Network Only Fix)
  1. Click the Advanced Settings button.
  2. Click to select Check and fix network connectivity.
  3. Click to select QuickBooks is hosted on this Computer (network connectivity only).
  4. Click Back.
  5. Browse to the location of your company file.
  6. Click the Diagnose File button.
  7. When the diagnosis is complete, attempt to open your file again over the network or in Multi-User mode to see if the issue has been corrected.

  8. To fix a data sync error:
  9. Click the Advanced Settings button.
  10. Click to select the Force fix Data Sync error option.
  11. Click to clear all other options.
  12. Click Back.
