Move QuickBooks installation to another computer

Reinstalling QuickBooks or moving your QuickBooks installation to another computer requires:

  1. License number
  2. Product number
  3. Installation CD or downloaded version.

Otherwise the install version would not be able to detect the company file. Once the company file is copied to the new location, it would work normally as the previous one.
